The Lions were comprehensively beaten by the All Blacks tonight, going down 48-18 in Wellington.
The All Blacks conceded first points to a try Gareth Thomas, but after the first fifteen minutes NZ never looked like losing and had the Lion’s defence been less committed they could have conceded more points.
The Lions put up a spirited performance in what was often a scrappy game, but they were outclassed tonight. All Black first five Dan Carter was a revelation in this game - scoring 2 tries and kicking a number of goals, while he was a constant menace with the ball in hand. The Lions competed much better in the forwards than last week, but they had no answer in the backs and NZ looked dangerous whenever they had the ball in hand.
The Lions have now lost the test series 2-0 and they look to be staring down the barrel of a whitewash next weekend in Auckland.
