Yes, it was a second choice. I thought McCain would have been a great VP choice. At least Kerry tried to bring the country together by bridging the gaps between the parties. He could have also brought back honor back to the white house - something the Bush/Cheney team alleged that they were going to do and which they have not.
FYI, I would vote for McCain for President but since he’s not running …

Actually, I don’t think it matters much. If you are voting for GW then you don’t care, if you are not voting for GW then changing his VP isn’t going to make the difference. The VP is not enough of an issue to sway votes.
I think the interesting thing will be to see how Kerry gets his foot out of his mouth now that he picked a person he railed on so hard. It will also be interesting to see if the Bush side can get any levarage from the ad the will run about Edwards being second choice to McCain.

i believe what he was saying was that cheney was put in a more secure position and more quickly than was bush, indicating that the secret service believes cheney is the more important of the two. i don’t think he was making comments regarding contingency plans for the prez/veep that are always in place.

Bill Clinton was re-elected by a landslide in 1996 even though Paula Jones filed a sexual harrassment lawsuit against him on 5/6/1994, and Clinton conceded that he may have met Mrs Jones in a hotel room and that he regretted “untrue assertions” made about her (10/1/1994).

Themselves first, their clients a DISTANT second in 99.9999999% of the PI cases out there. Dont even get me going on how LAWYERS are creating a crisis in many states with high medical malpractice insurance that doctors cant, or choose not to afford (this in states with no limits on claims). Dont you for a second think that Lawyers take the high road all the time (some do I admit). However, more often than not a PI Atty is a damn sleeze trying to make a quick buck…I know for a fact that they pay off nurses, squander around in the ER’s and do what ever they can to make people think that just cause they got a boo boo they should be rich…and the lawyer not once thinks about his 33%. A damn PI lawyer is now the Gov. of Illinois…soon as he was elected tort reform on Med Mal ground to a halt…med mal rated went up 150% + and now doctors are running from Illinois.
I care about him lying to a grand jury about it…so does the rest of congress since he was impeached for it.
