I’m looking for some house slippers to wear around after training racing. I usually wear some thick socks, but there’s this slippage factor oon the wood floor of the kitchen. I’ve seen the sheepskin slippers, usually from NZ with the fluffy wool collar. I think that’s a bit much and maybe too warm. Any of you guys wear slippers? What kind? Where to get them? Are they manly enough for you or do really not care as long as the feet are comfy?

UGG boots.
I used to make fun of them b/c they are so trendy in LA, but once you wear them, there’s no looking back. They make slippers, too, but I just wear the boots around the house. They are comfy from cold to moderately warm weather. They’re the first thing I put on when I get home from work. Also good at the beach (sand stays out) and when you get out of the pool on cold mornings (I swim outside year 'round). Happy feet, man.

Back on topic, I actually wear mine to tris. They’re nice and warm for fiddling around in the transition on a cold morning and comfortable after taking off the racing flats. I’ve got a few comments but friends have asked to borrow them when I go off to warm up.

Nobody would ever ask to borrow mine. I plan to not wear socks with them. So after a few weeks, nobody will want to come within 10 feet of them. That kinda goes with my helmet, too. Anyway, what do yours look like? Manly, childish, girly? (They all have their virtues.)
I have been wearing first nation moccasions (sp.) from the Algoquin tribe for the last 20 years. Super comfy, warm in winter, cool in summer and that yummy leather smell!! Manly looking? Hell, yeah!
Nothing is nicer than baby seal skin slippers. Just club 'em, gut 'em and bone 'em. Quite comfy and they give you the rugged “I hate nature” look.

yes and no. happy feet are a popular topic on this forum for good reason. thus so many threads about shoes and socks. in that sense, slippers are more on-topic than vacuum cleaners. on the other hand, you’re right. are we all so worried about getting the best of everything that we can no longer buy bedroom slippers (or underwear - see recent thread) without first doing research and checking with all of our friends like a bunch of junior high school girls? and did DARPA really invent the internet to improve the flow of information about fuzzy slippers? (no - i’m pretty sure they invented it to allow better access to porn.) which brings us back to UGGs. get a pair. you’ll wear them every day and thank the lord for this thread. and stay away from carbon slippers. and spongebob.

i got mine from ll bean and sometimes i forget they’re on and next thing you know i’m at the grocery store. plus like most things from ll bean, they tend to last a while.
