OT -- Deadwood Fans

Looks like some very detailed, important research. Somewhere, there is a Tom D clone posting on an HBO board…“remember, I watch tv shows for a living so I’m much more particular than you are about show quality…”

Loved last nite’s episode.

I’m 3 episodes down now and have to get caught up…my GF loves “Desperate Housewives” and of course they are on at the same time. Taping one or the other is fine if you end up having the time during the week at some point to watch, but lately that hasn’t even worked.

Thank goodness for “on-demand”…I’m gonna end up staying up late one night this week just to watch the missed episodes.

Absolutely awesome show!* I think *Deadwood and The Wire are the best shows on TV.

I had been trying to figure out what seemed familiar about the actor who plays Doc Cochrane and finally got it…he was Grima Wormtongue from the Lord of the Rings movies.

The c*ckskers who came up with that show are Fk’in brilliant!!!

Best program on tv.

I wouldn’t let children watch this show. How did you like the episode, Al with stones? Sorta makes you think what it was like back in those days. Also, see how many times the “F” word was used @

I wouldn’t let children watch this show. Of course not. It’s not for children. Never mind f**k, just look at the number of times they drop the P and C words. How did you like the episode, Al with stones? That one* really* grossed me out. Sorta makes you think what it was like back in those days. Also, see how many times the “F” word was used @

I think that was the subject of the thread. See above

Ever notice how most of the dialogue is written Shakespearian style? E.B. in particular is frequenty prone to soliloquy.

I believe one of the writers said the show was written in iambic pentameter.

I just caught on to it recently and I enjoy it a lot. It’s very odd to hear the worst language on the face of the planet combined with some very articulate speaches.

However, enjoy it while you can…as the FCC is trying to take over cable and satellite radio (I’m sure the internet isn’t far behind). A senator was on howard stern talking about it and his proposed bill to stop the fcc from trying to censor something that we pay for. It actually provoked me to send an email to my senators/congressmen. I can’t stress how much it disturbs me thinking about how much the government really wants to control our lives…but I digress…deadwoood is a great show, but not for every one (if your offended by it…then turn it off). I’ve been addicted to Carnivale on hbo, so I’m surprised i didn’t pick up on deadwood earlier.
