Okay, I know this has nothing to do with triathlon (unless it is vows, dance, booze) but how about a little help on which wedding band for our upcoming shindig: click the link on the right that says “video” to view once you go to each band’s page. 2 of the bands we like, one is a control for scientific accuracy.
You are not allowed to say “they all suck” or “get a dj” or “elope.”
.
All have a mixture or genders and races. good
Song lists are similar.
2nd 2 bands have horns in the pics. Horns are good.
I go with the second 2 bands on the basis of horns in the band.

ROTFLMAO!!! Not sure why, but they are hilarious.

Ohmygosh, smells like talent? That could just be last night dinner representing itself, though.
-
Nothing special.
Dude, I’m not sure why you are asking us about the band. we’d be more helpful in picking out your wedding night undies. Might I suggest, red silk?
While I realize that most of you can’t help yourselves to a good joke, I figured I might get a serious response or two. I’m not holding my breath.
btw, what is ROTFLMAO?
You’re fuckin’ kiddin’ right? Guys aren’t allowed to make such a decision as it’s up to the bride and her mother. Geeeze yer green.
Yeah, i know, but its the only decision they’ll let me make
That and the flowers for under the chupah???!!!
Who am I kidding, I ought to move away for a year–I’d have more input that way.
Rolling on the floor laughing my @$$ off.
Might I suggest this. Is pink your color?

i think i’ve now been officially initiated.–after 3 years.
Who am I kidding, I ought to move away
. . . and never come back : )
Did i mention Lance will be at my wedding wearing a firefighters outfit, fighting a bull, while balancing plates on long sticks? Dancing to an as yet undetermined band, unless you f’ers pick one for me!!!

Well I’m a musician and even played a number of weddings (back in the day) so I’ll throw in my 1.6589 cents. First off, if you haven’t already gotten a song list from these bands that’s the first step. You should find that they’re all quite similar but it’s important to know that they can mix it up and follow the flow of the reception. What’s probably the most important is how they interact with the bride and groom, the parents, and (if having a memorable reception is your goal) the attendees. Being able to read the crowd and changing directions at the drop of a hat is very important. I’d definitely talk to a number of the referalls as well.
From the little bit that was shown on the videos I’d have to lean slightly to what’s behind door number three…Second Nature.

Last out of the water but first in your hearts.
Funny, that is my least favorite–i don’t think any of the singers are any good. ? Go figure. Thanks for the input though.

Yes, it’s the wedding band from the movie Old School, and yes they are a real band. Priceless!

I’ll give you some honest feedback…I’m was/am/kinda sorta a pro musician (not that my opinion means any more or less). I play on commericals/CDs/gig a few times a week at the lil purple guy’s studio…
First off, those are pro videos…but the audio is terrible. All the singers will sound better in person. It’s amazing what technology can do! I had no idea Wesley Snipes was a wedding singer!
If you’re choosing from those 3…Second Nature is BY FAR the most “tight” and musically talented. Hard to beat the drummer and bass in synch. That Ken Smith bass is worth (3) P3Cs, btw. Wouldn’t surprise me if they were 1-2 thousand more than the others.
However…I’ll throw a twist at you. As mentioned above, bands can be fun…but can also bomb. I get called 3-4 times a week for a wedding or corporate gig. My favorite is doing a jazz-fusion gig during the meal (using the Fake Book mostly), ease into the wedding “standards” for some light dancing/groove…but then let have the DJ take over for things to get crazy.
Good luck…
no progress made last night, you guys didn’t really help yet…give me something to work with/or another laugh
.
Jeez, they all sound about the same. Plus keep in mind, the next day nobody’s going to remember the band, and I say that becasue they are so close sounding. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them, but I didn’t like the first band at all.
That being said, I was hoping to pick up some extra cash by playing in a wedding band…Those videos took that desire right out of me…It’s off the the country clubs for cocktail hour.
