A friend of mine turned me on to this extremely interesting site. It is not a specific religious site but rather a site that enables you to explore your own beliefs and the beliefs of others.
The most fascinating thing on the site is the “Belief-o-Matic” (in the upper left hand corner) which uses a series of questions to help determine your religion. It is very interesting and thought provoking.
When I did it I found out my beliefs are identical to some bizarre Iranian religion I had never heard of.
I hope you guys find it interesting given all the di=scussions we have on this forum related to this topic.
What is particular interesting is that my very least religion is Roman Catholism at 21%. This was the religion that was in my background but that I walked away fom at a very young age.
Interesting. I came up as Unitarian Universalism (100%). My personal tendencies lean towards Buddhism, which came up 4th and 5th.
Interesting observations:
I was born and raised Catholic, and that was ranked lowest on my results, along with several other Christian denominations. Hmmm.
After viewing my results, I clicked “Back”, then “View my results” again, and got a different #1 answer.
For more interesting polls, check out emode.com. They have everything from a fairly accurate IQ test to a test that determines what kind of dog you are.
I was raised in a Unitarian church. The best description goes like this - A Unitarian comes to a fork in the road. One sign reads, “This way to heaven”. The other sign reads, “This way to a discussion about heaven”. The Unitarian will take that road every time.
Wow - seem to be a lot of Unitarian Universalisms. I have no idea what this means - need to do some research apparently - but based on frogonawire’s description…sounds just like me.
Even though I batted 100% I know absolutely nothing about the Unitarians. I do remember my mother(a recovering Catholic) telling me years ago that if she ever started going to church again it would be Unitarian. I’ll have to look into them out of my own curiousity.
