Welcome to colorado folks… It’s almost July and snow is still very much a reality.
The alarm went off on Sunday at 03:45 in order to get in a nice late season snow ascent. You can see the edge of the storm coming in the summit shot. Within ten minutes it was snowing sideways with 40mph winds. Damn this is fun!

Looks like I-70 in the background?
We were at Lincoln, Cameron, Democrat, Bross… That road is the road to leadville that starts on I-70 near Copper. If you are familiar with the area you can see that large mine on the far right of the photo.
Right–I know where that is. My sister lives in Frisco, and we drove that road last summer going from Frisco to Gunnyville.
Sweet!!! How high were you?? Dreaming of being on a summit as I was soaked with humidity induced sweat at 180’ above sea level (fla.) this past weekend. Cool pics!
that looks so inviting. It’s 80 degrees and humid at 5 AM in Chicago, expecting highs in the 90’s. Summer is my least favorite season. just can’t stand it.
The summit is 14,140. Yeah I know what you mean, it can be 90 in Denver and snowing up there. It’s nice to escape the heat and get some snow stinging your face.
