Orthos: Degenerative contour of Supraspinatus?

Okay so I went to the ortho and got an x-ray, nothing going on there. PA did some motion tests and they were not to his liking, MRI ordered which I opted to get elsewhere for…uh hem…less than half the price.

Anyway, I have a message from my radiologist pal who read it and he said no tears…yes! However, he said there is a ‘degenerative contour of the supraspinatus’.

Any of our MD’s here know what this might entail for me? Hopefully a 100% chance of NO surgery:)

Thanks to JohnPost who encouraged me to get off my lazy ass and get a pro to look at it. I don’t have my appt. with the Ortho. until later next week and the anticipation is killing me…just want to see what this means.

Not an ortho-- but degeneration sounds like bones and joints… and the supraspinatus (a rotator muscle) can go through atrophy. I’d find a really good PhD in physical therapy who specializes in endurance athletes.

Fortunately for me the best rehab group with a jet ride is right here with FOI…total stud outfit and have helped several pals of mine over the years:)

I will be getting my rehab done by the best…no question.
