Ordu or Ora, is it only the CF?

Trying to decide on my first tri-bike, making the step up from riding tri’s on my Tred Madone w/clip on aero bars. I’ve done several sprint & OLY’s, and plan two HIM’s this summer and a full in the fall. So I need a real tri-bike. I’m considering the Ordu, but also think the Ora may leave a little cash left over for upgrading wheels and such. So the question is, is there that much of a difference for someone of my limited skills that I’d find the Ora to be a handicap in the longrun? Should I just pony up for the Ordu? Assuming I upgrade the Ora to DuraAce, is the only real difference the higher end carbon fiber? I can’t find weight differences on the Orbea website, so I don’t know how the total weight of the bikes compares. I’d appreciate any help you guys might be able to offer a newbie like me.

x2 there isn’t much of a difference between the two except about $1000! I ride an Ora and I LOVE IT! I can’t believe there aren’t more of them being ridden out there - the thing is a sexbomb. I personally think the Ora is a way better looking bike than the Ordu.

Sickness,
I like the look of the ora much more, but it should come down to fit first. I also don’t think you will need dura ace parts. I would keep them at ultegra-works just fine. If you want to, just upgrade certain things. The crankset and brakes especially do not need to be touched, just the derailers and maybe shifters.

Good luck. I personally like the black and white look of 08, but don’t know if they make it for the 09 look.

Enjoy the ride. Be careful of sizing, I think they make them pretty big. I typically would ride a 54 tt bike, but think I would fall in a 51 with them.

a lot changed for the Ordu and Ora in 2008, so that review of the 2007 Orbeas may not be extremely helpful if the OP is looking at new bikes. just an FYI for the OP.

i ride an '08 Ordu and love it, but haven’t been on '08 Ora for comparison.

i currentl ride the 08’ ordu, but rode the ora last year for a few weeks when i broke my frame. the ordu is def more stiff and light, and i think badass looking, but the ora is a sick deal. im not sure what they are selling for now, but they used to sell for like 3000 with part dura ace!

if your trying to save some cash for wheels or what not, and they both fit, id go with the ora.
