Orbea ora - thoughts?

i am in the market for a new tri bike, and thus far the orbea ora is first in line. People who have one or have ridden one - pros? cons?

got one in february. I really love it. Before it I had an old trek hilo so it was quite an upgrade. The only problem I’ve had is one of the bolts on the seatpost stripped…actually the clamp stripped. It is attached to the frame. I had to send it back to orbea to get it retapped. They were great and got it back quickly. It is stiff and responsive. I’m finally in a good FIST position as well.

I love mine!. You can see in the pic, but I just pushed my saddle forward last week, and I’m riding slightly steeper, but certainly more powerfully in the aero-bars.

Pros

  • Good Price, nice bang for the buck
  • Stiff & Moderatly lightwieght.
  • Different and people always have nice things to say
  • Although some would argu can get steep, I get plenty
  • Jonny-O just placed 2nd @ IMC on an ORA! Way to represent!

Cons

  • New 2008 Ordu recently released at TDF.
  • Paint chips & scratches easily, but c’mon, who cares
  • No Internal Cable routing on Down tube, but that never got in the way for me. Certainly didn’t for Norman last year at Kona on hit Kuota.

I got mine in June and I like the frame a lot so far. I felt the difference immeditely when I switched over from the aluminum 2004 Quintana Roo Caliente.

I had trouble finding a good dealer to buy from and the dealer I did buy from did not do a good job of putting the bike together. The shifting has never really worked very well.

I’m still very happy I got it.

He calls it an “oreo”, but it’s the same bike…
