Yes, the water conditions @ CdA were tough as many have reported. I was on the far side of the beach and couldn’t hear the announcement for an optional duathlon; only heard about it several hrs after the race. Despite the conditions, I was surprised they offered that (albeit with the restriction on K-slots & AG awards).
Has the duathlon option been offered before in other IM branded races? If so, when/where?
