Awful. Why should we pump in oil from Canada when we can get all we need from the other side of the world?
Sounds to me like someone with a vested interest in oil from elsewhere doesn’t want competitors to have access to (perhaps) less expensive Canadian oil.

I object to a private entity having the power to condemn private property. The tone of their letters to landowners is that they should settle up or else. Eminent domain gives them an unfair bargaining advantage.

Have not looked into it lots, but it seems like a reasonable and practical move, and one that would create a good deal of jobs, at least in the short term. Obama was in a conundrum though, because he had his green constituents raising cain against the plans, and his union side pushing hard for moving ahead. As you saw in today's news, he moved the decision till after the election, so everyone can continue to think they will win...genius!
