Opinion on today's Fiesta Island TT in San Diego?

If so, can you share your thoughts of the conditions?

I heard a lot of people complaining a lot about the wind, i agree there was some sections where the wind was a bit stronger than others, but it wasn’t that bad in my opinion.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I was not there, but one way to assess if it was winder than normal at this time of the year is comparing todays wind speed (and direction) with the wind in past years. You can start here http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KSAN/2010/5/9/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA Choose the same time to compare. Maybe 7:51 am is a good time.

You can also average the wind at that time for the races of the past months to see if the wind in todays race was “a bit stronger than the others”.

Also take into account that the wind is not constant and sometime even the best riders can be left behind because of the wind in a TT. I have seen the wind change in a TT from 10 to 40 kph in only 30 minutes. That meant in that occasion that none of the top ten ranked riders finished on the top ten places and one of the lowest ranked rider (who was the first one to start) won. Bad (or good for some) luck happens.

There is always wind at fiesta island. What’s to complain about, and after riding in Kona, the winds at fiesta are barely considered winds.
