Open water swim - are you tough enough...Monty?

Report there: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2009/03/undersea_eruptions_near_tonga.html
.

No problem, I just pick up the 30 footer about halfway out, and ride it in just like any good lifeguard would…

I wonder how much the various eruptions have warmed the water.

the swim wouldn’t be that bad - but man - the beach start would be a bitch.

I will send Al Gore a note right away. I am certain that he is going to want to fly his solar powered, invisible, non bird striking, eco-friendly, bio-degradable, private jet there to protest! Is that near New Zeland? Maybe he can get the sheep to stop burping as well while he is there.

Oh, and I’m pretty sure you would be swimming in acid as the gases released from underwater volcanos typically turn sea water to acid.

I don’t know… that looks like an old picture.

Not that old, it was the backside of Catalina island. People here would probably be suprised that it is only about a 2 ft wave…They scream for cancelling swims when they see stuff like this…Most folks have no idea…(-;

I couldn’t agree more. That’s about the minimum size wave that you need to have a little fun out there. Obviously, I get upset when they cancel swims and turn them into duathlons.
