*"Gerolsteiner’s Robert Förster learned the hard way that you’d better watch closely before you throw an elbow into a Discovery rider. In his Tour diary on radsportnews.de, he wrote about yesterday’s stage to Tours, “There was a lot of shoving going on in the field. At one point, someone from Discovery (Beltran) cam from behind, cut me off and forced himself by me. Oh well, it happens. Five kilometres further, another one from Discovery who also kind of pushed me aside. When shortly afterwards another Discovery rider appeared from behind, I thought, okay buddy, that’s enough. I threw my elbow out to make space. Oops, of course it was Armstrong himself! He gave me a dirty look and went directly to Levi Leipheimer, to ask what his teammate’s problem was…” *

Duck! You’ll see why in less than 10 posts…and, yes, here on ST, the messenger is often shot as well…

nice story - hope Lance got him a telling off.

Go Lance GO

I once had my training partner stick his elbow out at me as he couldn’t unclip at a stop sign. I just moved forward and let him fall

Every man for himself I say…

sjd - read the post, not just the bits that talk about Lance. There are other words in there you know

*Armstrong himself! He gave me a dirty look and went directly to Levi Leipheimer, to ask what his teammate’s problem was…" *

What a cry baby…going to tell on someone.

He didn’t TELL anyone. He ASKED. That’s what polite people do.

Nice try Brian. Yer so predictable.

Why didn’t he address the person directly?

It’s part of racing. Lance should know this by now.

How refreshing, someone who can read. Nicely pointed out Justin

Go Lance Go !

Ok, bored now…

cool
.

Yer killing me Brian!

Robert F. is German. What is Lance going to say to him? Sprechen ze English? (sp?)

Normal people try to communicate effectively rather than just spout off whether anyone is listening/understanding or not.

Give it up Brian. It’s getting old.

Lance shouldn’t have said anything. It’s just part of racing.

I’m sure Lance is still trying to figure out this whole racing thing. That’s probably why he went to the other team’s lead guy - to get some advice.

Or maybe Lance does know what he’s doing and going to the other team’s lead guy is the way it’s handled in the pro peloton.

actually, there are some countries where people do speak foreign languages

“actually, there are some countries where people do speak foreign languages”

Are you sure? In the movies I’ve seen, they just speak english but with a funny accent. You might want to do a bit more research before making such a bold statement.

Or english subtitles pop out of there mouths when the speak.

I used to love Hogan’s Heroes … I assume all Germans talk that way?
