Online Training Log Comment

The Online Training Log is pretty nice.

Here a couple of comments I have:

  1. Goals:
It will be nice to be able to set a start date when creating a goal to give (instead of using the date the goal is created).
If I want to great a goal for the month of January on Jan 5, then the goal will not capture 4 days so I will have to adjust manually.

  2. Create Workouts Type:
It would be nice to be able to create workouts type so that “Everything that is not running, swimming, biking and walking” does not fall under the other category (using a template) if I want to differentiate XC skiing from weight from skate from whatever.

  3. Associate “details” (such as equipment, indoor vs. outdoor, etc.) to a workout
It will be nice to associate some details to a workout (maybe this is what tag is used for?) so I can track things based on those “details” also if I want.
    For example:
keeping track of my running shoes mileage.
Keeping track of pool vs. open water swim
    etc…

Fred.

I’d like to see most recent activities actually be recent and most Active members get reset once in a while, maybe monthly or at least anually.
Other than that I’m really happy with it.

For the “Routes” feature, I’d love to see:

  1. A complete list of routes in the drop down box when you log a workout - currently, you get only an abridged set.

  2. A way to designate a start point for a new route other than zooming in from a map of North America. Most of my routes begin from the same place. Maybe a “save as new” option when you edit an existing route?

  3. A way to designate routes as either “public” or “private,” given that many of these will point the general public directly to the poster’s residence. There appears to be a long and honorable tradition of ST members stalking one another, and I’d hate to see all of the challenge go out of this pastime.

Overall, though, I really like the routes feature, especially because it’s faster than Google Maps (doesn’t bother figuring out driving directions), and it allows you to go off-road, wrong way up one-way streets, etc. The training log has been great in general, and it’s made me MUCH better about record keeping.
