So sick of stupid takes like this one. “Oh, society gets so offended these days” as if ‘society’ is one homogeneous entity. How about this: it’s not that people are offended - it’s that they feel more comfortable pushing back against racists, homophobes, and misogynists. If I call you a dick for saying lazy, bullshit racist stuff, I’m not offended - I just think you’re a dick.
So spare me this “wahh wahh wahh I can’t say the R word, everyone’s so offended by everything” and go join your lazy tired bros down in Austin - those hacks who think they’re so edgy by being ‘offensive.’ They’re not offensive, they just don’t know how to do humor.
As for the podcasts that are lacking in charisma and humor? My god, take a minute to look outside your tiny little box - there’s plenty of stuff out there. Maybe you lack the charisma and humor to find them, tho? lololol.
Nah, it’s just that most normal people don’t get offended at everything, they are too busy being productive members of society. The noisy minority is definitely a thing. They are angry, angry at their lives and looking for someone and something to blame. Most of the people carrying on like pork chops online or attending protests are unemployed and mentally ill.
Save the cancel culture brigade for the Lavender…errrr…uhhh…
…Politics is Life forum.
In all seriousness, there’s a difference between “taking the piss” and crossing lines.
As for attending protests, I’d post the picture of my 9 year old posing with the unicorns and frogs in front of the local ICE office, but we haven’t thrown that one up on the internet yet.
Umm, people that behave like pork chops online being mentally ill? Very possibly. (that said, l have no idea what “behaving like a pork chop” is)
But people attending peaceful protests are mentally ill? Nope. Heck, in russia, before they were arrested en masse by darling putin, going to a protest was a sure sign of mental fitness. And, while America for sure has its share of kooks, it’s hard to imagine that all of the ~7 million folks who protested here just a couple of weeks ago were all mentally ill and unemployed.
I couldn’t imagine being so upset over something that I would attend a protest, and protests for the most part achieve absolutely nothing. The only thing that moves the needle is voting, and of that only 60% of your population can be bothered…
