This sucks.

That’s a damn shame. Kraig’s site was the best source of unbiased wind tunnel tested aero data. I still love the test in which the lenticular $60. CH Aero disc cover out performed the flat $$ Zipp disc.
Thanks Kraig for your efforts. It’s too bad that all good things must come to an end.
I agree that this is unfortunate. I’ve subscribed to his site in the past and would likely have ponied up again in the future. I think his initiatives to provide unbiased testing are sorely needed.
As for “beaten down”… it is apparent to me that Kraig didn’t shy away from a good argument and liked to stir things up a bit… I don’t think any of us should make assumptions as to why he’s pulled the site without any direct word from him. Kraig clearly made some enemies but he also made admirers as well. So I think it’s a bit presumptuous to say he was “beaten down”.
Tibbs I told you not to hack his website and put that stuff up there!

i spoke to kraig each of the last two evenings. i doubt we’ve seen the last of his efforts. my own advice to him was to simply retool his offerings to parallel that which potential customers want to pay sufficient money for.
if FSA, or profile, or hed, or easton, or whomever, aren’t willing customers for those offerings kraig has available, change the customers, change the offerings, tweak it until you hit the sweet spot. kraig has certain values, and these are commendable. they keep him from stooping to liar-for-hire status. i suspect that there are ways for him to parlay his talents into a gig that pays him what his time is worth.
I just hope his first triathlon experience this year gets him hooked. He’d be great to have around the sport.
I definitely hope that this isn’t the last of a good thing. I subscribed for a while, and the aero information was extremely useful when I was buying new parts. It was nice to have info from someone who didn’t have a specific brand to sell, unlike someone-who-will-not-be-named. Unfortunately triathlon is still such a small sport relatively-speaking that I can see it being difficult to maintain an actual income from a site like that.
The one thing that I found very difficult to tell (and the reason it took so long for me to subscribe) is that I had a hard time figuring out exactly what I would get for my money. I think a very short synopsis of the tests (2 or 3 sentences) would have helped a huge amount.
