On topic? Mini virtual semicamp

Slowman,

Thanks for starting the virtual semicamp. I’ve been sick a lot this winter and this gave me a good kick start, although time and work do not give me as much time as I’d like. I’ve been getting up early and swimming before work, combined with the nightly sessions, I’m getting a couple of points. Question though - does yoga count? It was recommended by a spin instructor (a guy). I’ve done two sessions now and I’m finding it to be a great way to get more flexible. Anyone out there snickering - I’ve yet to see a fat person in the class.

“does yoga count?”

it counts but it’s on the category of strength training. i haven’t decided on points yet.

many very good triathletes are yoga converts. we have several yoga article on our slowtwitch coaching section.

I’m with frogonawire regarding Yoga. Since starting twice weekly sessions last November, my nagging right shoulder pain from swimming has disappeared and my shoulder flexibility has improved. I have also stopped having problems with my right hamstring during and after long runs. Still can’t twist myself into a pretzel like some in class, but I’m glad to be free of pain. Let us know the points. Tax season is hell on my workout schedule so I need all the little points I can get!

also on the plus side - only guy in the class last night! Becca, how flexible are you?

weird thing I found out, I’m much more flexible on my left side

it’s supposed to snow tonight (nice preview to spring) , do I get points for shoveling?

Self-selection at work. . .

Yoga…uh…I tried that once. There was a little too much meditation for me.

True. Everyone is so damned peaceful. I think it would be funny to have an angry yoga instructor.

" Reach you maggots! Quit eyeballing me, boy. Get downward facing and bark like a dog!"
