On topic but not serious

So what old outdated piece of equipment do you refuse to part with? Your lucky shorts (eeewwww!), your old cloth covered helmet? your frame pump? What do you use that your buddies always say “god you still have that!”

Fess up.

Mine is these glasses given to me by one of my students, I love them it’s like having ski googles on (and about as attractive) I get zero wind in my eyes. They have no top frame and for being 70’s technology are surprizingly clear. I do look like I should be in a fighter jet instead of on my bike though.

Note that i took this outside to keep the house razing to a mininium.

Hey Jim

I would have to say my frame pump, it’s a new Blackburn in the TI finish and it matches my TI Seven very nicely.

I think I’m one of the only guys that still carry a frame pump, but I’m also the guy they look for when they hose it using CO2 cartage!!!

Dan…

My frame pump has some nice fake chrome on each end. Most new bikes don’t come with pump pegs anymore :frowning:

I’ve got a very old HP/X frame pump that I’ve managed to attach to my P2K.

BOGGIES at your TWELVE MAVERICK!!! SIDEWINDERS at your SIX…

When you wear those shades say “I’ll be back” a lot, preferably with an Austrian accent.

In my case, it would be the rider.

Is that your yard? Did you pave it?

What the heck is that wooden thing in front of you?
Are you in an industrial park?

Your left arm seems abnormally long!

That is why he has a swim time of 39 minutes for 2.4 miles as long as it is in a contstant left circle…if there is a right turn, add 45 mintues to the swim time.

Two items that I refuse to part with:

1998? Bell Vortex TT helmet, black - super small frontal profile, very light

1995 Hooker front brake

Paid $200 & $300ea for these, USED

Ahh, see they are a piece of history, that I still ride!

Time pedals which are 18 years old!!! They still work like they are new. Awesome pedals. I use them on my race/training bike.

My ´lucky´ livestrong band. I won 3 races whilst wearing it at the end of last year. I´m grooming up a spare just in case it gets lost.

Mine broke last Friday, but I guess 10 months is a good run for one.
