On the Lance photo thing

that’s a huge file. don’t know exactly how big, but megabytes. i frankly don’t know whether that passes through our servers or not, as it is embedded in the page. please access the photo in another fashion—just bring up the photo in another browser window. i bellieve the URL was included somewhere.

by the way… lightweight wheels, instead of bontrager?

My browser shows that it’s only 1.1 MB. Must be a slow server on their end. Maybe a few thousand slowtwitchers accessing it at the same time!

Other than the picture… what did the gopher ask or say in his orignal post?

not sure if this is the same photo, but there’s a much smaller version: http://www.batchelder.org/travel/Honeymoon/Le%20Tour%20de%20France/images/11%20-%20Lance%20Armstrong_sm.jpg

I’m with Dan on the Lightweight wheels.

Oops. My bad. I thought it might squeak through, but I wasn’t sure.

Yep, I had just noticed the lightweight wheels. (He’s also got jammer aerobars on it, not sure which stage that was.)

Looks like he’s got a down tube shifter on as well.

Stage 11 '01 TDF Uphill Time Trial (32KM). Beat Jan by 1 min.

Also notice one STI shifter for cassette and downtube shifter for chainring. Saves around 200 grams.

Agreed. He ditched his helmet at some point. Here’s another photo:
