Since this is sort of the Super Bowl of cycling… which is your favorite TdF ad and why? Which one do you like the least and why?
cervelo ads are good. they are clever and feature the riders we follow.

I thought I was again back in Italia, riding those small village and country roads.
The 15 second videos made by Cervelo owners are amazing. Glad I did not try and put one together because the production value on the ones they are airing are amazing. Like the one where the R3 flattens out the road.
What about that one for E! tv channel with two chicks talking at the bar about who they would rather have sex with…David Hasslehoff of some other person? Then they ask “other dude from the front or hasslehoff from behind?”!!! Is there no decency in this world anymore?

That’s my favorite one.
I do love the Paolo Bettini ad. But the “Loser” ad for Lombardi Sports (I’m sure it’s just on the NorCal/Bay Area coverage, since it’s a local shop) cracks me up every time I see it.
On a lighter side: there is a part of me that finds ALL aspects of the tdf entertaining. I have been watching the tour with various level of curiosity for 40 yrs. I swear I can remember the huge front page pictures of Tom Simpson… and that was nothing in comparison to what had been attempted before to throw the race. There is a deadly serious aspect to drugs… but the intensity of the circus is amazing (true testosterone 
and fun to watch.

Easy one…the DR Chipper. OLN/Versus has been running their ads for however many years they’ve been showing the Tour. It’s not on nearly as much now, but it used to be shown at least once per commercial break. I saw it so much I thought about buying one, and I live in a condo where my homeowners dues pay for the yard work! Check out their website: www.drchipper.com and you can get a free DVD!

I’m a big fan of the SRAM ad(s)…the cinematography is pretty sweet…all grainy like it was filmed on old-timey film.
And as long as grammar correction threads are popular today, the Paolo Bettini ad is:
Sono Paolo Bettini…Questa e’ la mia bicicletta. “Mi” is not a possessive pronoun in italian, and because bicicletta is feminine, the demonstrative pronoun (questo/a) also needs to be feminine. Or truncated - quest’e’. Sorry, I was an Italian major. Can’t help myself sometimes.
When we are there for Bici in tre Regioni, I seldom need to write in Italia.

Definitely that one. I had to do a double take when I heard that. I couldn’t believe it when her friend asked if she’d “rather have David Hasslehoff ‘do her’ from behind or Flava Flav ‘do her’ from the front.” Is this American TV?
Also pretty funny when she asked her which she’d rather have sex with: David Hasslehoff or Flava Flav without the clock.
Isn’t it an ad for a new TV show?

Worst – Saab ‘born from jets’. Shouldn’t it be born ‘of’ jets?

Also, a big shout out to my girl the pinkly coiffed Erin Esurance from the esurance commercial. I know she looks 1-dimensional but I sense an inner depth, a certain j’ne sais quoi. I wonder if fathead has a poster for her?
Unfortunately in Canada we still get lame OLN that has a small handfull of commercials they play over and over and over and I am so sick of them I will NEVER by a Heineken or watch that stupid road hockey show of buy a bowflex…EVER!!! And I don’t have tyebow or teebow of whatever allows you to zap commercials so i have to hit the mute but the button is wearing out!!!
I hate that Heineken advert, the stupid bar it’s set in, the tall blonde girl with the pint in her stupid flat cap and her stupid smile, and the goofy twat with the martini.
I like the “Ei ama specializeda” one.
And I hate the “shut up and play the game” one.
Still, at least there’s marginally more ads than there were during the football world cup last year.
