for sprint and olympic distances in local races, where drafting is not allowed but no one would care even if you did, is a tt bike or an aero road bike with aero bars (like those of ITU pros) better? Assuming mostly flat narrow courses, good positioning on both bicycles and staying in aerobars all the way except for u-turns. Also, would it make a difference if I cannot find anyone who is at my speed to draft and I am just weaving through everyone?

Dude do you really want to go there…so the rules say no drafting and your going to draft anyway because you think know one cares…try drafting off me - you’ll do it only once
NEXT!

sorry i should have been clearer. what i meant was its impossible not to draft at least once due to the nature of the course (narrow roads), and also because I’m near FOP for cycling, I will likely be overtaking many people. So I don’t mean drafting as in forming a huge pelaton, but rather weaving through the riders and possibly enjoyed the reduced drag benefit.
Really don’t wish for this to turn into another drafting debate please. And it is also not my intention to draft
Just come to Korea and race. EVERYONE drafts and they do nothing about it. However they do have AG Elite where they “allow” drafting and it makes for a legal way to race draft legal all year. They enforce the ITU bike rules and only allow shorty bars. They are not all that friendly about working together, but I guess that is the same everywhere you go…
I would say the Tri bike would be more dangerous if you plan on drafting the whole time. Depending on how good of a position you could get in on the road bike, I would say the only good thing about having the Tri bike would be the benefits of your aero position when you are up front pulling. I guess it would really depend on what two bikes you were comparing and how good of a position you could get in both of them. If you are just going to sit in the pack then you would be better off on the road bike as it would be more comfortable and hopefully you could come off the bike with fresh legs.
