Any predictions on how Pat LaFontaine or Mike Richter will do? I don’t recall seeing these guys in the line up last year?!
It think it is obvious that a University of Wisconsin player will dominate. The UW is the reason that the Miracle on Ice occurred.
Mike Richter did IMUSA. Doubt that he’ll be doing IMC.
I know he did Lake Placid, but he is on the start list for IMC.

The Gophers too, especially Brooks.
One of the best books I’ve read in a while is “The Boys of Winter” which is a shift-by-shift account of the game against the Russians but also tells each players story as they get involved with the game and how their life chaged afterwards. Some of course had very successful NHL careers while others were successful off the ice as dentists, investment bankers etc. Others fell on hard times, and of course Eruzione became a motivational speaker.
When I went to to LP for Epicman in June, I walked through the empty arena and the ice had been taken up so that you could walk out onto the concrete floor below. I was out there by myself in the middle of where it all happened and it was awesome.
Not just the Gophers, but the whole state in general. Over 1/2 the team was from Minnesota!!!
pat will racing with a few members of his companions in courage team. he will going at the pace of the slowest member and all of them will finish together. he has done this before at im florida and he will probably be doing this again at imflorida. this will be his 5th ironman in imc. as good of an athlete as he is, he is an even better humanitarian.

I know but all of my college roommates and buddies played either college or high school hockey in Minnesota so it is one of my favorite statements to make. Just like when I say “Team Minnesota” couldn’t win a national championship until the started getting player from outside Minnesota.
