I got burgled and the *%(^ took (along with everything else) my shoes so I need to replace them.
The local shops are generally rubbish, and the ones that aren’t charge a bunch, and I feel bad going in there to get them to recommend a shoe and then buggering off and buy from some cheaper place, so I need some advice on some shoes (trainers, not racers) that may be appropriate. I appreciate that without a proper gate analysis it is impossible to give the best answer, but whatever.
I am a mid to forefoot striker, moderate pronator and have in the last 6 months developed Plantar fasciaitis (sp?) in my left foot.
I was wearing asics 1080, which I think seemed ok, but not fantastic, and oh so comfy, but ultimately injury inducing, newton stability s. I have previously used Saucony Hurricanes (too hard and solid), and a bunch of expensive, techo and foolishly ill suited for my needs models.
Since you are a mid/fore foot runner- I looked around for a set of nike frees for a while, didn’t find them, so I started looking at heels on the shoes- basically, the less heel it has, the better it would be in terms of speed. I found a set of addidas supernovas and they worked great, until they got stolen out of my truck. Thats really all I went on, I had never had addidas before, but they worked well, and I am a forefoot runner as well. Hope that helps some, or gives you some kind of idea to look into!
Same, mid-foot striker and I overpronate. I run in the Nike Air Span’s and I love them. Great cushioning and just enough medial support, probably close to the 1080’s.
Perhaps check out some form of arch support-- for the plantar fasciitis-- if you have flattish feet. ?? I have zero arches and since I’ve used orthotics, I haven’t had a pf problem at all.
