Old beat up computrainer help

I’m waiting for them to tell me my 6 year old computrainer PC1 has finally had it. In the meantime I thought someone might have had this problem.

The trainer works great without the computer. All of a sudden now when I hook it up to the computer I can’t start the race. The little cyclists move their legs when I pedal so something’s talking to the computer. But nothing happens when I push the start button. Any idea what I can do to fix this? It’s a long cold winter and I just got ventoux and alpe d’huez courses loaded.

Thanks for your help.

Have you disabled the hot synch. from your pda. ?

Can you enter the “Go” command from your keyboard? Maybe your sweat has finally taken its toll on the Controller.

Dude, she’s a girl - they don’t sweat they just “glisten”

Maybe you have glistened the Controller to death.

Maybe you stepped on one of the cords–I was told they are sensitive and you can have a break inside even though there is nothing showing on the outside. Maybe you can try that first–it seems like it is picking up the information from the drive in the back–just not from the controller, correct?

THanks guys. I definitely sweat. Don’t know about the glistening girls you are familiar with.

Computrainer already wrote back with some diagnostics questions. I’m pretty impressed especially since it’s such a dinosaur. I’ll try all your recommendations and see if we can save it from extinction.

Please keep us posted–it may some relevance to future problems we encounter–particularly I am interested in knowing whether it starts from the keyboard.
