Okay...ST Server/Storage experts

I give up…
Server - HPML310 SAS (RAID5) SBS 2003 (32bit of course) EMC Retrospect 7.6.123 (sent by EMC support) SAS Ultrium3 tape drive

Windows can see the drive, Microsoft Backup can even see the drive and work it. EMC just does not see the drive and wants to default to the DVDRAM that is in the system. Disable the DVD just to screw around, still no changes. EMC just told me (damn near 2am my time) that I need to change the SCSI ID on the SAS tape drive…um…where does that happen? No jumpers that I have ever seen on a SAS device (then again I never looked that I can remember). EMC had me install more patches and this and that and the other than I can beleive. Never have I had this issue with Retrospect before (but, never installed it in a non D2D environment either).

This is not a patent data server so no fire drill…but the only time I can get at it is late late as the clinic it is in has patients all freaking day and it is an HL7 gateway to EPM. I need to go to bed.

On the ML350s I have here, the SCSI ID is set by whatever bay you plug the SAS drive into. They’re numbered on the front panel.
