I have been on this board for a couple of years, seat angle is discussed extensively and while i have a basic understanding of the term I could use an education. I would appreciate some enlightenment in the following areas:
A nice clear, concise explanation of what the term “seat angle” refers to, preferably with small words and pictures. An explanation of the effects on position, aerodynamics and power seat angle has on an athletes performance.Pros and Cons of slack vs steep.Examples of steep and slack bikes, also bikes that could be set up either way, if they exist.
Thanks, I anticipate your collective wisdom and smartass remarks.
rider steeper will allow a rider to maintain a lower, more aero position by pushing the torso forward. the rider will also be less stretched out, thus less putting less strain on lower back. I also believe riding steeper allows the rider to have a more open hip angle, which presumably allows them to generate more power.
slack - more comfortable (debatable by some) and less aggressive. steep - see above
steep: new QR’s. slack - most ride bikes.
i think that covers it, but i have only been on this board for a few months.
