I know you conservatives have been playing defense for 8 years now, and God knows it must have been tough defending that boob of a President at times, but now you’re on offense and you need to learn a little patience at the plate.
Its day 1 and you’re all yelling at Obama for freezing the pay of his Senior Staff?? huh??? thats a pitch you don’t swing at. You take that one and wait for something you can hit…like if he starts torturing people or spying on American citizens. Take it from a guy who has been swinging a bat for 8 long years, you’ll tucker yourselves out if you keep going at this rate and swinging at stuff off the plate.
I new it was going to be bad, but it’s even worse than I thought. To use a triathlon metaphor: this is an IM. and they’ve almost wasted all their energy trying to see how fast they can get their transition area set up.
We all HOPE he will make better judgements in his remaining cabinet appointments (to date he has picked tax cheats, bribe takers, and unindicted co-conspirators), because so far I don’t see any real CHANGE from the practices of past administrations or any reason to BELIEVE he isn’t just another crooked politician.
Here’s my solution: Don’t read or even open the political ones.
Why give the writer the satisfaction of seeing the Views tally for their post increase? And before anyone jumps on me for being closed minded or “hiding my head in the sand”, I’ll just point to all the MISINFORMATION that such posts spread. They can be as bad as chain emails. The recent post by walnutcreek tri of an Obama quote is an excellent example…it’s a MISQUOTE (thank you trackie clm for quickly pointing that out). Until there’s a factcheck or snopes or truthorfiction for Lavender Room “agenda” posts, why bother with them?
It is difficult not to return in like-kind the kind of hatred that has been directed to former Pres. Bush.
Even on the day he and his family are flying home after serving our country for 8 years, even you Matt had to take some cheap shots.
Then I hear the crowd is singing the nah nah hey hey hey goodbye song as he did his last flyover, well, it’s hard not to hold a grudge for that kind of tasteless, low class behavior.
Rather ironic that someone who has spent so much time jumping on anything and everything Bush did or said, or was falsely reported to have done or said, or things that he made up in his own mind is complaining about about people question his savior.

Dubya earned every bit of the hate that was directed at him, you can at least give Obama some time its just day 1.
As for taking shots on Bush’s final day, I have no remorse for getting in a few last digs. He was signing executive orders up until his final hours in office doing away with environmental protections, collective bargaining protections, and human rights protections. His ass was fair game until that helicopter took off and delivered him into hopeful obscurity…unless of course he is tried in the Internation Court of Human Rights for torturing people…how much fun would that be!
Now, I gave you some helpful advice, take it or leave it. You can blow your wad this week screaming about the President cutting his staffing budgets, or you can wait until he really does something wrong and pick your shots wisely.

So far I see no reason to disagree with you. His pick for Treasury Sec. sucks. If he can’t see that then this is going to be a long 4 years.

I don’t think you are above decorum and I don’t think you are a classless person so I will take you comments as Matt funnin with me.
There’s a little funnin going on I have to admit, I’ve been in a good mood all day and I can’t think why! but I’m serious as a heart attack about Dubya, I think the man did terrible damage to this country both at home and abroad, I think he broke the law, I think he put his own agenda and narrow interests ahead of the country, and I think history will condemn him to be the worst President, perhaps ever. I’m not patient enough to wait for history, so I’ll condemn him right now. I think he disgraced the office of President and I don’t think he deserves much if any decorum.

“We’re still in Iraq. The economy still sucks. To date, President Obama has been a complete failure and has failed to uphold his campaign promises. Time to impeach?”
here in the LR On President Obama’s 1st day in the Oval Office this image comes to mind:

Just sayin.
First of all he didn’t cut any budgets. He froze salary increases that is not the same as cutting salary. I would think you would understand this.
As for Bush’s legacy he will be viewed as much better than you think. Mostly because Bush could cure cancer and you would find a way to bash him for it. If what Bush was doing was so bad why didn’t the Dems in the past two years try to stop him?
Since it was my post…I wasn’t taking stabs at him, I was not a Bush fan (AT ALL), and I still find it silly for an individual at his level to announce a pay freeze -especially without disclosing current salaries and also in an economic time when many are taking pay cuts.
