Ok, don't laugh. Anyone do the P90x workouts? (as seen on tv!)

I’m totally bored with my core/strength workouts and have essentially quit doing them. I’ve seen the infomercials for P90x and it looks different. Variety is usually a good motivator for me. It looks like you can pick it up for under $50 various places on line (not the $120 they advertise on tv) and I’m actually thinking about trying it.

So, has anyone done it?

Been there done that… had my a$$ handed to me by it…

nothing wrong with it, its as good as any weight training plan as a starting point.

I use Chuck Norris’s total gym, Jack LaLaine’s juicer, Susanne Sommer’s Thigh buster, George Foreman’s grill, and John Beck’s guide to real estate.

I also take Ambien, Prilosec, Viagra, Levitra, Cialis, and Head On, applied directly to the forehead.

I eat Eggland’s Best Eggs, and I use H&R Block to redo my taxes, to save me thousands more than my accountant can find.

I’m very disappointed in you.

No shamwow.

Have you considered Crossfit? It is free and will kick your butt.

AWESOME

Own it…did the workouts in '08. Still do stretch/abs workouts. Its difficult as a 3+ hour a day endurance athlete to do some of these workouts (strength training) as it will completely wax you.

Yes. I like it. It’s not that expensive and I’ve been doing it on top of my base training. I’m improving at the exercises each week, but I’m not following their diet plan. Lots of core strength stuff and it has a good yoga workout and stretch workout too. It has not made me faster, I don’t expect it to. My goal from it is to become more injury resistant and look better naked.

this is a awesome workout it kicked my butt it really made me reazlize how bad of shape i’m in.

I hope you do the Total Gym in your Snuggie
.

Did you see in paper recently that they’ve sold 3-4 million of the Snuggies…WTF??

If I showed up to a game here in KS to a game (like the commercial) I’d get my ass kicked!

Yeah, I saw that. It made me sad.
If you think the snuggie is a gimmick, then check out the nuddle. http://www.nuddleblanket.com/

The word “nuddle” does NOT make me think blanket. At all. Oh man.

Yeah, but 3 of the 4 million went to one cult, so, you know… not that impressive.

I never had heard of it until a friend (triathlete) handed it to me after doing it and said it’ll kick your ass. And it sure does. It was the perfect remedy for my winter blues (considering I don’t particularily enjoy running when it’s 10 degrees, and the bike trainer doesn’t exactly excite me). I wanted some good core/strength work to hopefully save off some injury. I’m in week 10. It’s tough. The leg workouts and the plyo workout should have my legs in good shape to start training when March hits. And I feel like the core workouts are paying off as well. So anyway, I’ve never done any type of “informercial” or training program before, so I can’t compare. But I’m feeling good, strong, and ready to start the S/B/R here soon.

I totally have a box of shamwows. They’re awesome. Wife bought them for me as a gag gift for Christmas because I always make fun of the crap they try to sell on TV. She’s still threatening to buy me the “cold heat”. Shamwow really does make you say “wow”, though. really. and the box has a picture of that guy on it, and they say “Made in Germany” right on them. Not sure why they say it in english, though.

Anyone know how this works with a problem shoulder. I keep hearing about pull ups. I have rotator cuff issues and I think if I tried to do pull ups, my shoulder would pop right out on the 2nd one. Is there a lot of emphasis on the shoulders/pull ups? Are there work-arounds? I am intrigued by this. It looks too good to be true. I would like to try it, if I can get around the shoulder part without affecting the overall program.

I recommend it strictly for the comedic stylings of Mr. Tony Horton.

The workouts are pretty kick ass too.
