With _ichigan Triathlon taking a bit of flack for their fundraising post I figured this would be a great opportunity to capitalize on their misfortune. If you now strongly dislike them, you can take that hate and turn it into something meaningful by donating to THE Ohio State University Triathlon Club. I won’t post a link because we only want money from true fans who will take the time to google our website.
A little bit about our team:
I have no idea how many official members we have, but there are ~30-40 regular who seem to give a damn about triathlon (while simultaneously not giving a damn about the whole state of Michigan). We are extremely active on campus and have been recognized for our efforts to “offer extra-curricular activities for students on weekend nights”. While we take pride in our athletic skill, our real passion is cheering, winning the spirit award at nationals in 2012 (one more spirit award than mighty CU Boulder, I should add). Being that we attend such a prestigious university we’re all pretty loaded as is. That being said, a little extra to aid in our plan to steal Howard’s Rock at Clemson this year would greatly appreciated.
This thread really has it all: my love for tOSU and triathlon and a good troll of TTUN.
I’m an alum, just took a job back in Columbus, and I will be back in school like Rodney Dangerfield taking classes for my new job. I’ll keep an eye out for you guys on campus.
Of course! What better way to justify drinking too much beer that night? There’s a fan page for the race on Facebook and a link to registration was tweeted out. I can post the link here later when I’m not on mobile.
Having lived in Ohio for a few years and seeing the Mich/OSU dislike, I must say this is an absolutely brilliant twist. Also, now that I live fairly close to Clemson and have to hear sh*t from all of their alumni at work, I strongly encourage you to steal that stupid rock.
You should attack Duke next. Those kids are pretty rich.
