A single Iranian warship has, apparently, once again entered the Mediterranean Sea. In the CNN story describing this event, there was this paragraph:
“As the Navy affected the region with its presence in the Mediterranean Sea last year, the Navy’s 18th fleet will in the best way carry the message of peace and friendship to regional countries, and display the might of the country and the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” said Rear Adm. Habibollah Sayyari, according to Mehr.
I read it twice and shook my head each time: the Iranian news agency appears to have used the word “affected” correctly. “Affected the region” how? Really, with a single warship and a supply vessel? Iran has an 18th fleet? What is their definition of “fleet”? Doesn’t that imply that there must be 17 other “fleets” to contend with? “Display the might of the country” with a single warship? Really? Perhaps they should have sent two warships. Finally - the title “admiral” must be used globally, and not just by the evil zionists (I didn’t know that, really).
I recall going aboard the New Jersey, or maybe it was the Iowa, after it had locked through the Panama Canal and was tied up pier side at Rodman Naval yard. I was a young army parachute LT at the time and while visiting with my aquatic peers aboard the BB they related how they’d recently had a protocol visit from some “admiral” in the Panamanian Navy and that their CO’s personal gig on the aft deck was about as big as the biggest vessel in the Panamanian Navy.
As was said of Iranian combatant vessels during the tanker wars of the 80s–should things come to that again this Iranian destroyer would lead a very short exciting life.
Seriously, I’d be worried if we only had one nuke available to sink that thing. Probably ought to use three or four, just to be on the safe side. Oh, and one for the supply ship, too.
If Obama would just stop doing abortions and forcing feeding our troops salads for two seconds he might wise up and order all those nukes recreated and back into service so Iran’s mighty navy won’t invade us and put us under Sharia law. Stupid atheist.
US technology, Australian version of the flight 3 688, US MK48 torpedo, standard non-contact surface attack mode. When you watch the video keep in mind there was nothing explosive on that ship. Think what it looks like with a full weapons load and a million gallons of fuel oil.
Call me paranoiod, but when i read the CNN articule, I immediately considered what the “might” was that they referred to, and my thoughts centered on a device in the hold of either ship that could create considerable damage and surprise- I thought this mostly because prez A noted how the world would see their special powers soon…call me an alarmist, but crazy is crazy…
