I stopped buying them about 4 years ago after bringing home a bunch of boxes, then doing the math and realizing how many total calories I had just brought into my house. But now the damn things are all over my office - sitting out on every secretary’s desk. Somebody make it stop!
I have two girl scouts at home, Just tell me what you want we can take care of that craving.
I bought some from a little girl on my street. First time I’d ever had a girl scout come to the door. She said we wouldn’t be getting them until mid-march, so you’re lucky you get them early!

Hmmmm…Thin Mints.
Ohhhhhhh daaaaaaaaaamn!
By the way, congrats on Sunday’s victory. It was a hell of a game. See you in the Final Four!
I haven’t gotten any this year so far…but last year while training for IM-AZ I had a couple days where I’d eat a box for lunch. That was good eating.
The Girl Scouts put out a press release yesterday and for the first time all their cookies are trans fat free.
I hope those coconut macaroon cookies taste the same.
Those Tagalogs/Samoas (depending on where you live) are amazing.
Thin mints RULE!!! Trans fats are gone, but they still have hydrgenated oils. Who cares, maybe thats whay I like them so much!
By the way, congrats on Sunday’s victory. It was a hell of a game. See you in the Final Four!
Let’s hope so. I’ll also be in Madison for IMMoo and several other times this summer. In spite of my collegiate lineage, I really like Madison.
I ordered 17 boxes from my niece to edge out another uncle who bought 16 boxes. Hopefully, not a single box makes it through my front door. I take them to work and let everyone else eat them.
I wish they didn’t taste so good! And because we all know two of these cookies is not a serving, but rather by the box, I’ve done a quick calc for y’all:
box_cal Thin Mint 1,500 Cafe Cookies 1,410 Trefoil 1,320 Do-Si-Dos 1,210 Samoa 1,125 Tagalong 1,125 All Abouts 1,040 Little Brownie 650
Thanks…so that looks about right for a lunch.
woooo hoooo I ordered 4 boxes… I bet they are on my doorstep when I get home!
I tend to drill a box somosas with my afternoon coffee while writing code. I reach over and there are no more cookies. Oops!
Tagalongs! Are these the peanut butter ones that I hear rumours about? I have never had them, but I can imagine they are good. Brockville needs more girl guides that share. It’s hard to find the cookies here. I think they keep them all to themselves.
Yes! I’m so excited! I love those samoa things. I wonder how well they’d work in place of hammer gel on a long ride. . . .
We have about 4 or 5 folks in the office with kids in GG or similar, who just come in with a case and stop at my door. I hate them all. Evil, evil people. Ditto the chocolate covered almond pushers. Bastards. AP
Why have I not seen a single girl scout? This is my favorite season! Girl scout cookie season.
Here in NZ we have a different but equally good type of Girl Guide cookie.
No mint, no chocolate, no creamy filling. Just a plain creamy textured cookie that is smooth and goes down so easy with a coffee or milk chaser. Recently they have brought out a chocolate bottom version, but that really just spoils the perfection of the original cookie.
We buy several cases each year. I think each box has about 12 or 16 tubes of cookies and there are about 25? cookies per tube. They are pure heaven. Each time I start a sleeve of cookies, I put a small cut in the next sleeve in the box. That way, the cookies are slightly stale and soft, adding to the wonderful creamy texture.
My wife says I’m no longer allowed to buy them. I don’t think she likes me having anything nice in my life. No I just buy them when she’s not around and I leave a box or 2 under my desk at work.
I had 271 boxes in my house earlier this month. My daughter (9) and I sold them. We got our delivery February 17th and I haven’t had one cookie, I started a diet last week. It’s been killing me delivering all those cookies at work and not being able to eat any, but I am already down about 10lbs. and feeling better about myself.
Not one person has made a comment on the ataste being any different since they are all trans fat free.
