You do realize who John Cooper is, right? The guy that regularly won 10-12 games every single season but dropped Michigan. It literally cost him his job.
I don’t give a F about OSU, but I did unfortunately graduate high school in 2000 about 40 minutes east of Columbus in Newark and I know OSU history better than most that went there.
You might have noticed above. I was surprised how little I care.
And Cooper didn’t lose his job until he went 6-6 then 8-4 including losing badly to a then 6-4 South Carolina. He got a metric shit ton of grief for losing to Michigan, he got fired for losing to everyone else.
ETA - Day would have to go 1-6-1 over the next 8 years to be as bad as Cooper.
I apologize that I came off as intent on being a dick. I did that as I assumed you thought I had no clue what I was talking about. No - it was not Steve’s fault he was the best QB on the roster, it was John Coopers failed evaluation of QBs that was the problem.
Austin Moherman was a bad evaluation that led to Steve
Pretty classes to do stuff on other team logos. Sark chased Texas players away after the win at Kyle field tonight. Not a good look for anyone. Remember Terrel Owens on the star, same thing in the pros. Not an excuse for what Ohio did, but still classless from Michigan.
As the newcomer to the conference you should understand that PSU will never be accused of being a Big Ten Blue Blood. Penn State will join the Ducks in battle for the Conference Title. I am old school and would have rather seen this match up in the Rose Bowl. But still, it is nice to see that “The team up north” and the “THE” team are sitting this one out in favor of some new blood.
It would be really nice then to watch my Pittsburgh boy and his Indiana JMU composite team, flip the bird to the Big Ten Corporate leadership and go on to win the National Championship.
Flag planting is a pretty normal celebration in college football. Texas and Oregon both planted flags in the Big House this year and nothing happened.
Also consider that Michigan was expected to lose by double digits and was on the road. This was their last chance to salvage anything from the season and they pulled it off. I think they earned some gloating.
If OSU was mad about it then that was the intended outcome. It’s a huge rivalry. The emotions are why it is so exciting to watch. But OSU’s reaction was not proportional at all.
