- too many ‘official’ threads going down these days
- sunny and 25 / 77 degrees forecast in S Ontario. Leaves changing colour + country roads vs 8hrs snarky posting about video feed quality. Tough call!
I will be sitting on my Computrainer with a Notebook following the race. Might even do some pedalling.
Damn straight…
- With a big race in 4 weeks I have a 4.75hr ride on the schedule
- IMLive with that embedded video chews up my broadband
…easy choice for me.
(edit: oh and it’s a Sunday in the middle of spring in my part of the world)
I’m having surgery on my collarbone tomorrow, out of action for at least the weekend… easy choice for me.
.
I plan on being on the road.

So I’m aiming for a P2 in St Helliers at about what time? I shall polish my bullbars ![]()
You’ll need to a) spot me first, then b) catch me

Catching ya won’t be a problem in the turbo charged Audi ![]()
Back on topic… Saturday NZ Time (Friday PST) wil be swim & run time. Sunday (Kona day) is my rest day so i shall be watching as much of the race as my 6 year old will allow.
I’ll be sleeping & catching up on zzzz’s from the week. By the time the swim is over I will likely be up, dial in, and catch the blurb. Wait 5 hrs, check again to see who is off the bike first, then wait another 3 hours to see the final results for the men, and then maybe 5 minutes after that & Chrissy should be in. Or maybe I have it backwards–check the men 5 minutes after Chrissy gets in…
Cross race starts at 10am pacific, right when the gun sounds in Kona. When I get home I’ll have it on for the rest of the day, including time on the CT. Is it really 77 in Ontario? That’s crazy. We basically didn’t have a summer here in the PNW.
Soccer and biking for me also. Who the heck want to watch a bunch of guys swimming , biking and running for 8-18 hrs ? Plus I hear enough hardship stories at work.
109 mile ride that day, hopefully I’ll get to finish in time to see Crowie on a Trek or Felt.
I’ll be up for a 100 miler but should only miss the swim due to being on the east coast and might even catch the end of the swim if I hit the road at 7am. Nothing too exciting on the swim, Potts out first and the rest with the main pack. Diebens out first and CW and Miranda with the rest. ![]()
Couldn’t care less about Kona, is it this weekend?
jaretj
As I am 6 hours ahead of Kona, I will get my full 5.5 hour ride in time to watch the swim start before going out for lunch with friends. After that, I will relax (recover) and watch the last part of the bike/T2 before swimming and then catching the last 10km of the mens race afterwards. Can’t imagine a better way to spend the day, other than racing in Kona
Cheers,

jealous. going back up into the 90s here + leaves continue to dry up and fall off + opening of hunting season for the kids = I’ll be on the road, hoping to dodge any stray bullets and the grannies driving.
109 mile ride that day
Interesting distance.
What’s this “Kona” everyone is talking about?
Too nice a day to be inside - forecast = 70’s and Sunny in DE.
4 hour ride in the AM with a swim and trail run in the afternoon.
Thanksgiving in Canuckistan means a weekend of family and friends and excessive eating and drinking. I love having two Thanksgivings a year!
