I think it will be tough for Liverpool to repeat as champions but they should stay among the top four. Agree that David Luiz signing is a good pickup for Arsenal. I’m excited for the season as a whole to begin!

As a United fan I am generally disappointed that there wasn’t at least one more new addition but I think we solved our biggest concerns (a more reliable back four and retain De Gea and Pogba).
Other than that I think it’s a chance to see if Ole can bring the best out of some guys like Sanchez, Fred and Martial instead of giving up on them in favor of spending on guys who also might not pan out.
I do think it poses an interesting question; in your first full season do you try to find the “real Sanchez†in a style of play that better suits him (because Mourinho sure didn’t play that way) and he’s already there (he’s free) or spend big for a replacement? I can see why the club wants to see what Ole can do with some existing players.

Yup, my bad in forgetting that it came down to the last day where they had flip-flopped each other all season. I still have Champions League on the brain (that and not enough coffee).

I don’t get why people think the Luiz transfer was such a good deal for Arsenal. At most, he’s a minor upgrade.
While he certainly adds some leadership and organization qualities, he’s still a slightly better than average defender, one who is starting to get old.
You also have to question his judgment, as you would anyone who signed with the scum.
I really hope Liverpool will win it this year. Nice start today (not over) against Norwich.
But City is the favorite. Hopefully losing some points tomorrow at Westham.

Last year Tottenham were in the mix through the first half of the season, despite not having brought anyone in over the summer and despite so many players not getting any rest due to the World Cup. They then sold Dembele during the transfer window and were plagued with injuries. Dembele wasn’t the same player in the first half, so I don’t argue with the transfer, but because of injuries and others being off their game, they never had someone to fill that role. In Ndombele, they now have someone who may be even an upgrade over a younger and healthy Dembele, plus they’re deeper all around, so there shouldn’t be the second half fade.
Chelsea couldn’t do anything with the transfer ban, and Pulisic is no Hazard.
So what the heck happened to Chelsea v ManU? Was expecting Pulisic to start but even when he entered I think he touched the ball twice. Chelsea may have a real problem figuring out where the goals are going to come from. Man U dominated but to keep it up they will have to keep getting goals from Rashford and Martial ( who only combined for 20 goals last year.)

United ** It was no secret that Pogba wanted out of Manchester and with United not transferring him he will be a bigger distraction than ever.

Man City has a few injuries and are thinning out a bit. They are back 5 points early in the season, fortunately for them they have 33 games left with 2 against Liverpool.
Just like last year, this is becoming Liverpool’s ship to drive or sink. They sunk it last year giving up a 9 point lead, but also the first time with 97 points to not win the league.
Currently Man City has given up 5 points of a max of 114 points. How many can they give up and still win?
I just thought I’d bump this thread to recognize that Liverpool is running away with the EPL in epic fashion. They’re undefeated in 24 games, and have a 19 point lead. It’s over. Pretty cool to watch history.
