Official Merida Warp TT owners thread

Hello
There are probably few that has the new Merida Warp TT, but some will probably get hands on one in a few months.
I am pretty lucky, I am one of the first in the world, witch is not pro to own one of these. I bought one bike from the Norwegian Continental team “Joker-Merida” for around 60% off or something, only used since May and a few training rides.

One thing I like about the bike, is how smooth the bike looks. It does not look as smooth as the new Speed Concept, but with Di2, this bike only has a few cm of cables in the wind. The seat post adjustment is easy, but to adjust the height you have to use a hammer (sketchy!) to hit on the screw to expand the adjuster. I can not wait to get this bike out on the road!

The bike looks extremely fast, unfortunately I live in Norway, where it is snow right now so I have not got any chance to try it outside, only on the trainer.
If you have any questions, just ask.

Enjoy some pictures of my bike:

Clean lines and top aerodynamic.

Here you can see the regular road brake. Do you think it would be a good idea to buy a Tririg Omega?

All the pictures where taken before I fitted the bike, so the handlebar points a little bit upwards on the pictures.
This bike will hopefully help me reach my goals in 2014, but time will show that.

Q:
Does anyone know where I can find a user manual for the stem/handlebar/bike (PDF-file)

That bike looks fucking awesome.

I’d definitely get a tri rig for it.

everything looks great on this bike can u share the cost and get a new stem
.

Heres a very similar species…

You mean the price? I paid 25 000 NOK, witch is 4050 USD (ex vat)
I think you can change the stem. The handelbar is also changeble, I can run the most handlebars.

(Sorry for any bad spelling, english is not my first language)

They look very alike, the Merida is produced in Taiwan, so many bikes looks the same. I think my bike is stiffer, lighter and more aerodynamic

Similar yes but the fork, stem and seatpost are different on an FM086.

I poked around the Merida site. It appears they are not available in the US, perhaps because of Specialized?

If I heard right at the sponsor meating with Merida, Merida owns some parts of Specialized, BMC and Trek. That’s why the Warp TT got some parts that look alike these brands TT/tri bikes. The front end. Got some inspiration form the Shiv, the rear triangel looks similar to the BMC TM01 and TM02, the frame profile, NACA or something, is also used at Trek’s Speed Concept.

The bike is the fastest at a 0 degree yaw angel says Merida

Just got a user guide for the base bar:

.

Pretty sure they do not own any part of Trek.

Yup, correct. Just mixed it up. They own around half pf Specialized and use the same type of carbon as BMC. Found out yesterday

It’s a sweet looking bike! Nice build.

Take 0 yaw data with a grain of salt though. Lots of bikes are really, really fast at zero yaw. It’s when the yaw angles start to sweep out that BIG differences appear and bikes become pack fodder or leaders of the pack.

For instance the Jamis Xentis TT bike was as fast as the P3 at zero yaw, but at 10 yaw the P3 absolutely destroyed it.

Rarely will you see a TT/tri that is zero yaw for long periods of time, or long enough periods of time to worry about which is faster at zero yaw.

This may help with the tech catalog for the bars. http://www.visiontechusa.com/faq/ I didn’t see a tech catalog specific to those bars though.

I was about to mention that they didn’t own any of BMC either.

Not saying Merida is doing this (they’re a legit brand from my understanding) but A LOT of the Chinese knocks offs you see have guys that say that it’s coming from the company that owns insert popular bike company here in order to justify the product.

That’s one sweet looking bike and the color combination is great. That itsy bitsy cable probably isn’t much drag anyways but tririg omega could clean it up. 2 bottle cage holders for those very long rides.

I wish Merida frames were available in Canada. Great looking machine.

and a wilier twinblade

+1

Definitely seeing the BMC / Scott influences there, nice looking bike tho.
Good luck for your goals in 2014
