Official BMC Time Machine Owners Thread

Hey Guys,

Any idea where I buy the rubber grommet by the seat post - the one that covers the seat post bolt. I lost mine at the last race I was at.

Thanks

I lost mine as well and found them at an auto parts store (repco in Oz)

Thanks! Much appreciated!

OK gang–I just picked up my new TM01. here is a pic of my old lady–the TT01 and the new baby. The new bike has quite a bit more aggressive geometry and I’m able to get a nicer, more aero position on it:

Here is the new bike–details include:

size ML which is around 56cm I think
Campy Super Record 11 drive chain (53/39 and 11/23 with 172.5mm crank arms)
SRM PM and Edge 800 head unit
Zipp Super 9 carbon clincher disc and Zipp FC 880s F/R–I’m moving the decals to the Black motif on the disc
3T Breeza II Ltd aerobars
Keo Blade Carbon TI 12NM pedals
Sella Italia XC Flow Saddle

Finally, here are head-on shots of both–note the more advanced front end of the TM01 (second pic):

How the fuck is the bike just standing on it’s own
?!

The Swiss have always stood on their own!

people photoshop out the stand

Photoshop magic. Some small adjustments to the position since the photos. The extensions are now at their widest and the saddle is in the rear-most hole of the seatpost.

Where does the front brake cable go?

Look closely. Its there, just tucked next to the frame!

It is located in the right hole in the headtube just below the bar.

wow
.

Here my new Time Machine in action.

ITT 19km
BMC Time Machine TM01
Campy SR 11S crank 165mm
Enve tubular 6.7
3t auro pro (now swapped for a pro missile evo)

Sorry for the lack of skinsuit (i did however put on one of my girlfriend’s jersey in order to get the tightest fit possible…) or aero lid.

Keep posting pictures guys! I love the look of this bike. Jealous as hell of all you bastards who own one.

A heads up for Time Machine owners - I’ve just got back from Cairns 70.3 and had major drama before the race. The seatpost clamp parts (two wedges, allen bolt, and washer) which sit inside the frame disappeared. I couldn’t tighten the seatpost at all. Cue stressful trip to the BMC distributor and negotiating to take the parts off another Time Machine so I could race. I was very lucky that the only BMC bike in the local store happened to be a Time Machine that I could take the parts off!

When packing my bike to fly home, I discovered that the seatpost clamp parts had fallen inside the frame and become wedged in the BB area. I could see them through the hole above the brake. They were stuck and not rattling so that’s why I had no idea whether they’d fallen outside the frame and got lost, or had fallen inside it.

Thanks. I always put it in a zip lock bag when packing up for traveling.

For (primarily) curiosity, what weights are people running their TM01 and TM02’s at with what setups? I know that aero trumps weight, but might as well try for both!

Mine is 8.5 kg.

hi there
How difficult is it to assemble / disassemble the TM 01 to get it ready for races? I have a Look 596 and the pedals are a pain to dismount / mount. Any issues with any part of the TM 01?

Does anybody ride a size small frame, and/or pictures of one? Been trying to decide between a M-L and Small frame size.

I’m 5’7 with about a 32.75 inch inseam.

Medium-Small would probably be perfect…(54cm with short top tube)

Pretty easy. Just don’t have the seat clamp fall into the frame as mentioned above. Brakes are the only difficult thing about the bike
