Ocean city NJ

Have to go to oc new jersey in a few weeks and am wondering if theres some good 30-60 mile rides in the area?

sure, get off the island, cruise the pineys!

just don’t do it naked…

I don’t know any “rides”…However, you really need to get out of Ocean Proper as soon as you can as you’ll get picked off your bike. If you head out of town either at 9th Street…Or the more Southern road out of town, you can get to Rt. 47…You can ride for miles and miles on 8 foot wide shoulders…It’s a pretty safe ride and actually kind of scenic through the trees. Do a search on mapquest and look at the roads I’m talking about. If you have questions, shoot me a Private Message and I’ll help you out.

Rt. 9 is not a good choice to ride…Busy road, not much shoulder and lot’s of lights and businesses.

I second route 47. I was just in Cape May, NJ and rode for miles and miles on nice smooth, flat 8 foot wide shoulders. Some nice shade trees and an occasional canopy of trees. A true cyclist’s paradise without the hills. I would probably drive my car to route 47 and park it somewhere and then ride. The traffic in O.C. can get quite busy and these tourists don’t care about cyclists. Have fun and enjoy.

thanks for the info!!

Go over the 9th St. bridge into Sommers Point. At the circle take the 3rd right - Mays Landing Rd.(don’t go into the Crab Trap parking lot) Go past the golf course, under the Parkway and look for these stickers:
