Could he not have found something else to do? Or played earlier/later/different day? Seems like a total dick move.

Not a dick move. Just poor staffing. I doubt the President had any idea he was invited to the wedding originally, nor any idea his golf was impacting the location of the wedding. Some mid-level staffer didn’t want to tell his boss “no” and didn’t think through the issue, or some manager at the golf club didn’t ask the question, and just pushed the wedding.
Oh…Obama played golf during the holidays. It inconvenienced someone. The outrage!!! (Rolls eyes)
I suspect Rodred and others will be here shortly with more Obama bashing.
I don’t care that he played golf. I would be pissed if my presence was causing a wedding to be relocated and someone didn’t tell me. Perhaps it was a mid level staffer who didn’t have the balls to tell him. However, I would hope that he employs people who are strong enough to protect his image. Maybe he chewed them out behind the scenes, maybe he didn’t….either way, it happened and he looks like a douche.
Did you read the story you linked?
Obama regularly plays on the course, and anyone planning an event there is told ahead of time that plans may be reshuffled at the last minute when the President in town, according to a manager from the company that handled logistics for the wedding.
Again, the President is a douche for playing golf and inconveniencing someone else? The someone else who knew when they booked their event that it might be changed? And the same people who got an upgrade for their venue?
The couple ended up having their wedding at a “much prettier and much nicer venue” near the home of the base’s commanding officer, which has a view near the 16th hole.
And then a captain in the Army got a call from the commander in chief? Man, he is such a dick!!!
Yes I read it.
It said in the article that anyone making arrangements at the club is warned that their plans could be ruined if Obama decides to play golf there. This sounds like news that isn’t news.
Yes I read it.
You just looking for a reason to bitch??
No, i thought it was low class. Still think it is. Obviously others do not feel the same way. To each their own.
The likelihood that Obama had someone tell him directly that his choice to play golf would oust someone’s wedding is laughably low. I am not a fan of the guy but this is some serious manufactured outrage. I am sure even king Obama would defer to a wedding if he was apprised of the situation.
Obama has been a very poor president and there’s rarely a reason to defend him, but this is a real reach. Regardless of who currently sits in office, it’s unreasonable to expect the presidents schedule to be managed without inconveniencing people along the way. There are about a hundred other things he does that are worth getting worked up about. I have no issue with this one.

Put yourself in the couples shoes. Feeling any outrage yet? Then try thinking about how much the tax payers have payed for these over the top vacations both in number and venue. Any outrage yet? Now pretend Bush did the same things? Outraged yet?
Obama’s fault specifically ,no. His lackeys who think he walks on water and is approaching godhood and the huddles masses should be inconvenienced so the king can do.as he wishes, yes.
Not losing any sleep over it since I have trouble believing they found two military officers who would actually want him there given his approval rating from military members ( outside of naval officers of course) or expect that his people didn’t think that their plans were beneath the office. I mean they are only his soldiers and it would have meant one afternoon of delaying his golf . I feel no sympathy for them because they should have seen it coming not to mention the idea of getting married. Yuck.

The couple was advised that his presence in town could change their plans. They knew he was likely to be in town because they invited him. Quit looking for ridiculous reasons to bash on the President. This is a non-issue and when people focus on non-issues it takes away from their total credibility on real issues. Outraged- no. Similar Hypo-If I planned a vacation to the Caribbean during the heavy hurricane season (like August), then a hurricane nearly hit the beach where I was supposed to stay giving me an upgrade to a better hotel/room, I would feel no outrage at all and be happy that my gamble worked out in my favor.
Focus on the real issues, it shouldn’t be hard to find them

I hit reply to soon and edited. Surely you don’t think that I of all people have trouble focusing on his real issues lol.
I do find it odd that two of the major liberal media organizations reported on it before Evil Hitler Fox got ahold of it.
BTW thats not similar unless hurricanes have the ability to choose to inconvenience people who work for them and pay their wages.
While I’m not outraged by this I have no idea how the president, any of them, live with themselves knowing how much chaos they place on other people with every move they make. I suspect I would become even more of a hermit if for some reason I was elected. I can see people being inconvenienced for official US business but I’m not sure I could live with the fact that someone had to change their wedding plans because I wanted to golf. We’ve seen this with many presidents in the past so it’s nothing new, just not something I would want to put people thru for my vacation.

I agree. its also why many of them stick to private clubs where its easier to control the people and less hectic.
Put yourself in the couples shoes. Feeling any outrage yet?
The couple are both military, knew Pres Obama would likely be in town, and knew ahead of time that their plans could be messed with. If there’s anything two Army O3s should be, it’s flexible.
Then try thinking about how much the tax payers have payed for these over the top vacations both in number and venue. Any outrage yet?
What is outrageous about the President going home for Christmas and playing golf on a military base?
Now pretend Bush did the same things? Outraged yet?
No. Presidents go on vacation. They also carry their work with them, and inconvenience a lot of people as they travel. It just goes with the territory, whether they are a Republican or a Democrat. It doesn’t have anything to do with it being this specific President.
I guarantee you that Pres Bush, and Pres Clinton, and Pres Bush (the first), and Pres Reagan and every President before them inconvenienced someone in some similar way at some point during their administrations.
Everyone is missing the real scandal here. Why does the USMC need a golf course in Hawaii?
In the 80’s (I think it was during the “Gramm-Rudman crunch” of 1986), we (the USAF) had our wrist slapped for spending O&M money on MWR projects like golf courses and day care centers. At the same time, the USMC got into trouble for spending MWR money on O&M requirements like flying hours and ordnance.
These two newlyweds will have the best story ever in the years to come. If this is the biggest challenge they ever face while serving in the US Army they can consider themselves lucky.

Almost on cue. Good job republican lap dog. Even managed to throw in a few more snide comments.
I feel sorry for you and your outrage over everything Obama. Your obsession with him is kinda pathetic.
