Obama's gift to the Queen of England

An IPod.

Good God…she’s the freaking QUEEN OF ENGLAND and the best you can do is an IPod?

I’ll bet Gordon Brown isn’t feeling so bad about his DVD’s now.

Nice job Mr President…yet again.

Makes you proud he is ours to share with the world doesn’t it!

So what extravagant gift would you have rather he spent tax dollars on?

Really? This is what you’re going to complain about? Good God is right.

She doesn’t need another flippin’ vase. She actually doesn’t NEED anything. It was a personalized gift. Just for her. She probably doesn’t get much of that.

As She-who-must-be-obeyed often reminds me, a gift needn’t be extravagant, but it should always be thoughtful…

Color me confused, but how is an I-Pod a “Personalized gift”? Was it some special “Queens edition” manufacture or was it just filled with all of her favorite toons from the 1930’s?

He gave Medvedev a Ipod also with top secret weapons specs. and a bonus track of Launch Codes. He loves that transparency policy.

Exactly, but we’re Americans, we Buy Buy Buy rather than put some thought into a gift.

What was the gift to the Russian, An “Easy Button” from from Staples or something? If I remember with incorrect wording…that could have used some thought.

The Queen of England’s gift to the President of the United States of America…

A framed photo of herself.

Good God…he’s the leader of the freaking FREE WORLD and the best you can do is a photo of yourself?

(see how stupid you sound?)

Actually it was filled with show tunes!

Reportedly it also contained some video of her last visit to the U.S. Yep, an IPod with travel movies no less!

Could you imagine of this was Bush? Yep people… But, but, but Bush!

Yeah, I can see the Queen putting that thing on with her exercise spandex and running laps around Buckingham palace - yeah right. At some point Obama may actually realize that he is in way over his head.

What are you complaining about now?

Oh, he forgot the massage. I see…

“An Obama aide reported the queen was given an iPod loaded with video and photos of her 2007 trip to the United States, as well as songs and accessories. She also received a rare songbook signed by the composer Richard Rodgers.”

Yes, personalized.

Exactly. She apparently likes showtoons. And it had pictures of her trip.

Man, you’ll bitch about anything, won’t you? I can’t believe after 8 years of a bafoon like head of state representing us, this is what embarrasses you.

FYI, I pride myself on giving thoughtful gifts and have given an ipod that I loaded up with music I shose for the recipient as a gift.

“At some point Obama may actually realize that he is in way over his head.”

He gave her an iPod loaded with video footage of her visits to the U.S. She gave him a framed photo of herself.

How does his gift render him, “in way over his head?”

Why are you even asking?

Sorry, a nicely framed, personally inscribed photo is a gift that would seem to commemorate the occassion appropriately…quite classy actually. Sending Michelle down to Kmart to grab an IPod off the shelf, not so much.

Well, it’s good to know that you and Obama have similar tastes in gifts. While yours just needs to be appreciated by Uncle Charley though, diplomatic gifts are intended to reflect the importance with which the United States values it’s relationship with the recipients. Thus far, no one seems to be feeling the love…

the gift was tacky, not as bad as the DVDs but tacky… The conclusion that he is in over his head is more of a lifetime achievement award (if thats even possible after only a few months) as opposed to a direct result of any one of the many stupid things he has done already.

I don’t ask for much just that he has some self respect while he bankrupts the country.
