Obama Speaches

Am I the only one who is sick of having Obama come on and speak multiple times a week. Today he spoke about stem cells, STEM CELL reseacher WTF? Maybe if he concentrated on fixing the banking situation and didnt give so many damn speaches hed be able to make this big change he talked about.

**Today he spoke about stem cells, STEM CELL reseacher WTF? **

Maybe because that is an important issue. I am Conservative and am appalled at his decision to change Bush’s policy but it is an important discussion.

How is Obama going to fix the banking situation? Honestly, what can he do today to make it better?

The funny thing with Obama critics is that a month ago he was roundly criticized for focussion too much on the economy and letting foreign policy and the threat of terrorsism out of sight. If there was an attack, the critics would say the same, that he spent too much time interfering in the economy.

On one hand you and others bemoan his involvement and on the other, say he is not involved enough. Which is it?

Since you seem to fall on the side of thinking the President is directly responsible for the economy, what would you have him do?

Actually, this is a pretty big change and certainly worth the few seconds it took for him to make the pen stroke to enact it.

This is a pretty important issue (for those on both sides of the debate) and one for me who could personally be affected by it, is glad to see it happening now, although about 8 years later than I would have hoped.

I am sorry it suprises you that the President actually has multiple responsibilities.

I like the fact that he’s willing to talk about the decisions he’s making. Whether you agree with those decisions or not, at least he isn’t hiding in his office signing executive orders he’s afraid to defend.

The more important question is whether he used a teleprompter or not?

Maybe he should talk about fixing public education. Its very clear standards have dropped.

Probably too subtle there, Matt.

Probably too subtle there, Matt.
Haha! Subtlety has its place, and that was a good one!

you mean with context like this:

uhhh, blah blah blah, uhhhh, blah, blah, uhhhhhhhh, uhh, uh,blah blah?

Believe it or not, and you may not like it, but stem cell research is one small way we will get out of our financial crisis. The big knock on our economy is that we have become consumers only, and not the makers of things that other countries buy. If there is one thing certain, the baby boomer generation is going to consume a lot of health care one day, and most people believe that stem cell research is going to be a big player in those modern thearpies…Best we figure them out, and then we will not have to buy our healthcare from Korea, or some other country that is agressivly going after this technology…

I like that he can walk and chew gum at the same time. It’s what a president should be able to do, multi task, and then communicate to us what is going on. I know we have not had that in quite sometime, but it is the way it should be…

And before you start a complaint thread on all his attention on alternative energy during this financial crisis, and health care reform, just re-read my original response to the stem cell question you posed. Same answer, it all looks long term at our financial problem, and is meant to be more than a bandaid to the problem…Not that a bunch of bandaids are not being given out right now, but I like that someone is taking the long view of working our way out of this mess…

Definitely too subtle

It does rhyme with “peaches”.

I agree…I’m sick of hearing him speek.

Lets see, how's that working currnently...Americans bear the brunt of costs associated with development then the drugs are sold at cut rate costs elsewhere, but at elevated costs here. You think breakthroughs will be made, but the good ol' USA will stick it to needy folks the world over?

Here we go the speeches are just a warm up for the cradle to the grave manifesto ,conditioning is the first step.
Since the govt. will be the controller of health care hey might as well get into R/D what a bunch of crap.

Two important observations:

  1. Remember when the USA had a presidents that spoke intelligently on complex topics? I miss those days.

  2. M&M has created the most delicious thing ever! Peanut, Chocolate and Jalapeno M&Ms. Do yourself a favor and try them.

Easy mistake, given the POTUSA connection.

Dude…#2 needs its own thread. Don’t bury that good news here.

You didn’t go far enough. We need to offer everything that the Swiss and others do today. Stem cells, Animal. human growth hormones etc etc. Why should we prohibit people from spending their money on what they consider the pursuit of happiness? We should be the freaking leaders in the industry. Instead our money goes overseas.
