I had them stuffed in a closet until 2 years ago and then I dusted them off to wear cycling. The lenses are great and they feel comfy on my face. The “arms” are kinda worn out and the little rubber piece that sits on your ears is starting to be uncomfortable.
I looked online today to see if I could find replacement parts. Wound up calling Oakley directly. They don’t have any parts for these in stock, but they did tell me that if I want to “RETIRE” my glasses (ie - you can send back discountinued models) they would give me a $30.00 credit towards any new pair.
I saw a recent thread looking for deals on Oakleys. This is probably the best deal you will find and you can guarantee they are legit.
actually, the best deals on Oakleys are their warehouse sales. It’s a madhouse and you sometimes have to wait hours to get in, but you can get some crazy good deals–i.e. 70% off. Then again, you have to live in So. Cal to take advantage.

I love Oakley’s as well (just got a pair of scalpels). That being said, what they are doing is also good business for them. They are keeping your old glasses off the secondary/ebay market, making it more likely that someone will buy a new pair (and giving you an incentive to as well). Given the huge margin on their products (the glasses cost virtually nothing to produce; it’s the r&d and marketing) the opportunity to sell an additional pair, and to gain additional customer loyalty makes a lot of sense.
Agreed. Definitley a good business decision by Oakley. I wonder why the don’t stress this value add more. I’m sure there are plenty of Oakley customers who have moved to another brand because they are $30 or so dollars cheaper.
Heck, they should make that offer if you “retire” a competitors brand or some Shmoakley.
