Oakley Fit?

I have the Oakley M Strike glasses and the fit is rather mediocre. I got it for cheap so the suffice for a while. However, I’m contemplating purchasing a better fitting Oakleys for cycling. Went to an Oakley outlet store and tried on different styles and the only one I’ve found were the Half Jackets and even then only the oval lenses(not the more rectangular type). Basically the lenses are resting more on my cheek rather than my nose bridge. I tried on some Oakley Crosshairs(and ended up purchasing a polarized version for everyday purposes) and they’re the only ones that really fit well. The Half Jackets fit perfectly but the lenses are way too small. Anyone know of any model that works or even another brand? Lenses need to be polarized or transitions(I don’t think you can get both) and keeping the price reasonable is definitely required. :stuck_out_tongue:

sounds like you have high cheek bones. Try the Oakley Radar Path’s. The lenses are cut to give your cheeks a little more clearance. I have high cheek bones too and have used the Half Jackets and Flak Jackets for a long time. My next pair will probably be the Radar Paths as the fit me pretty good also.

x2 for Oakley Radar Path
.

Most of the Oakley glasses you mentioned are available with a “asian fit” nosepiece. You’ll need to find a dealer that offers this but you can get it online or at most Oakley stores. The asian fit nosepiece lifts the glasses a bit away from your face (guessing you have a flatter nose bridge and/or high cheekbones) and usually solves the problem you are having for most.

The new Radars and Flak jackets are damn awesome simply because of their hydrophobic/oleophobic lens coatings. Trust me the first time you ride in the rain, you’ll never go back.

I could only find the Oakley Fives and one other model that had the asian fit at the outlet store I visited. Neither of which helped my situation. However, you are right as far as my facial features go; high cheek bones but a narrower nose bridge(so it has to sit lower). I’m waiting on my LBS to see if he can get some asian fit versions for me to try on. Would you recommend any other brand? I had Specialized glasses before but those didn’t fit too darn well either.

Same problem, but I’m really liking my Rudy Project Rydons. I’ve had good fits with both the Half Jacket XLJ, with the asian fit adaptations and the RP’s.

Oakley has pretty good customer service, if you tell them the issue they will usually give you trade in credit toward a new frame that fits you right.

I’m biased, but I’d try the Rudy Project Noyz. Like most of our glasses, it has a fully adjustable nosepiece to fit all bridges and adjustable temples. Just as important, the sweep of the lens offers great full-wrap coverage with an aggressive angle that easily clears high cheek-bones.

Does the asian fit come with beef aww pawk?

The adjustability of most of the Rudy Project glasses made me ditch Oakley long ago…

ditto with other folks here. I’m an asian with puffy cheeks, and the M-frame Strikes worked ok for me for a long time (like you, got 'em cheap off a friend). The Radar Paths fit much, much better. I finally relented and paid for them and I think they’re definitely worth it.

I will sell you a pair of Radar Paths, white chrome frame with blue lens with case and bag. PM me if you’re interested.
