I was out on the bike this morning, and I measured the NYC tri run course and here’s what I came up with. Run course for the men was 5.97 miles. I also measured the distance from the womens transition area(run start) to the section where the men and women meet up on the course.I did it from the mens transition area as well, and this is what I came up with. Women .04 miles Men .14 miles, which means, the womens run course, was about 1/10 th of a mile shorter then the mens course.(Womens total run about 5.87 miles).
nice work - thanks!
(but don’t tell stefan…)
…well, it’s still the fastest (close to) 6 mile race I’ve had. So I’m still happy.
Thanks for doing this.
Stefan
was your bike computer properly calibrated? :o)
Your welcome.
<was your bike computer properly calibrated?>
Yes it is.
I rode the run course in reverse, and I did my best to keep my line,so these numbers should pretty accurate.
Thank you very much, catmandu - nicely done!
(Are you going to offer your services to the RDs to get it so it’s an even 10KM??)
I measured the mens run with my Garmin 301 GPS watch. I got 6.02 miles. It was SHORT and I got a great PR…
The bike ride was LONG at 25.5 miles by my bike computer which very closely matches my GPS Garmin on multiple bike rides.
I actually got 25.7 but subtracted out .2 miles for the transitions… Did anyone else think the bike was long?
Bike IS Long. Was last year. I got 25.5 as well last year.
