Registration for the New York City triathlon opened at midnight last night. As of 10am, registration had already closed. The race is full.
I just spoke to the race organizers, and apparently the race sold out within 6 hours. That means that on Halloween night, people were in front of their computers after midnight registering for the race.
Unbelievable. I hope they find a way to (safely and enjoyably) expand the race to accomodate more people.
This early access is one of the better benefits I’ve gotten from my USAT membership. I’m quite looking forward to this, as I grew up in NYC. My girlfriend has never been there and some friends in NJ have never seen me race so it ought to be a good trip.
We waited till midnight and both my girlfriend and I signed up. Very much looking forward to it. The site was not the greatest for sign ups though. Could use improvement.
