Has anyone had to cancel a NYC marathon slot because of a military deployment? The race website claims a no-refund policy, but I was wondering if the organizers ever made exceptions. Appreciate any experience anyone has with this.
I have cancelled, but didn’t ask for a refund. Under the circumstances of a military deployment, they might make an exception I would think. I’d just call the NYRR and ask real nice.
You could always put in for an injury deferment. Of course you wouldn’t get your money back, but at least you’d have automatic entry for next year.
