NY City Trip this weekend - Possible to find reasonably priced hotel?

Want to take Wife and Daughter to NY City this weekend. Saturday night stay-over. Is it possible to find a reasonably priced, decent hotel? Found some, but all start at around $300 per night and goes up if you have 3 people. Any recommendations?

We would like to stay close enough to have walking access to the Times Square area.

Thanks,

Mercer

Why TS??? what is so special about it? you should avoid it like a plague

with nyc subway system it really doesnt matter to be honest where you are in the city

Because honestly, that’s the only place I’ve been, to go to Broadway. Wouldn’t know where else to go. I’ll take suggestions…

not to sound like a smart ass but…drop one of your training sessions…make a trip to barnes and nobles travel section…pick few books…get a rough idea…then go to nyc.gov and newyrok.timeout.com. or nytimes, com search for nyc in 36hrs article…tons of info…make times square as a attraction to see at night but dont ever based your trip around it…there is so much to do in nyc

Thanks. I wasn’t expecting an overnight trip so I’m behind the curve.

I’ve had good luck on expedia.com looking at unpublished rates. It lets you choose an area plus hotel rating. I’ve used it twice and it was excellent - plus I saved about 40-50% of normal rates.

Try the Salisbury–on 57th and easily walkable to Times Square/theaters, and very reasonable (for NYC). They have suites too that would give you and the wife some privacy.
