I am a huge fan of nut butters (almond etc…) and I eat a lot of them. Due to the inexpensiveness, filling feeling, high energy and fast easy calories. I however feel that I need to balance my diet more. It has also been suggested to me that I cut back a bit on my intake of so much high fat foods. I am concerned about getting in the calories and feeling full if I cut out the nut butter. Plus I’m I just like them and feel addicted. It is also nice to feel full and it is such an easy way to get in the calories I need.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to ease my way out of the nut butter habit and to a more balanced diet in which I still feel full and get the energy and cals I need day to day?
Wow, great post. I have the same problem. I’m totally addicted to PB & almond butter. I’m actually starting to think they add some addictive drug to PB.
I don’t have a high fat diet, but almost all fat I eat comes from PB & AB. I’ve tried adding olive oil to some of my foods, thinking it would reduce my craving for the nut butters, but I always need my nut butter fix, and the olive oil just became extra calories so I cut it out… I told my wife not to keep PB in the house, but she needs it for the kids…! I give up.
i eat 2 -3 servings of almonds/almond butter every day, also drink almond milk, also one serving of pumpkin seeds, thats basically 60 grams of fat a day right there, i had a blood test and my bad cholesterol levels are pretty much as low as it gets, almond fat is good fat, and almonds are ten times better for you than peanuts
.

I find the section in bold very distubing. I mean the choice of words just brings out my inner teenager
I thought this post was going to be drooling over nut butters we like. Almond butter… and Dark Chocolate Dreams from Peanut Butter & Co.
Good company that makes peanut butter that has the shells, too - that stuff is the essence of peanuts in taste. Yum.
Sorry, what was the question? you were trying to cut back on the stuff? Avocado = fat and calories. Eggs = protein and filling and less calories. Cottage cheese too.
