Nutrition question

I make my own energy bars. I’ve recently read several accounts of how corn syrup is a ‘bad’ substance to use. Is there really much difference between corn syrup and say, honey? They seem to be very similar from a calorie/carbohydrate/protein standpoint. Is there a better substance to use for the binder in a home-made energy bar?

Not sure how accurate this is, but if I remember correctly from my Nutrition 101 class, honey is sweeter and, as a result, you end up using less which translates into fewer carbs and calories. Not that there’s anything wrong with more carbs and calories  It’s probably a personal preference thing.

polite request…

how do you make the bars / what do you use?

do you make energy drinks to?

thanks

andy

Try using brown rice syrup. My fiance makes her own energy bars sometimes using brown rice syrup and they are quite tasty. Also, I think that brown rice syrup is better for you than corn syrup.

I’ve would like to try my hand at making some energy bars, can you share the recipe? Do you make any other nutrition products like recovery drinks?

Thanks

A
